Reusable Steel Grommet - .066" - .094" Grip Range
Fasten to materials using retaining ring.
The grommet is installed in the outer panel and serves two purposes:
- Prevent the panel hole from wearing
- Act as a stud retainer.
This grommet's length will vary depending on the outer panel's thickness. Grommets are secured in the panel by the retaining ring. The retaining ring grommets are the easiest to install, least expensive, and are reusable but, in applications subjected to severe vibration the crimp type is recommended. The retaining ring snaps over the lip of the grommet, locking the unit into the hole.
If you have never used these aircraft style 1/4 turn cam fasteners, you are in for a treat. These are lightweight, aircraft quality, vibration resistant, quick-operating, high-performance fasteners. Perfect for any race car application. Most commonly used in:
- Cowls
- Dash Access Panels
- Oil Tank Covers
- Any application where you need to have "quick change" or "quick access" capabilities, like fastening ignition boxes, gauge panels and valve cover/exhaust heat shields.
