Metalshapers know that wood slappers of various shapes, although seemingly simple tools, quickly become a valuable asset in any metal shop.  Preferably made from top-quality hard wood, these Fournier slappers are made to our specs from grade A hard maple for strength and durability.  Unlike a hammer or mallet, a wood slapper has the added benefit of offering a variety of curved surfaces for forming the desired curve in the metal being worked.  Wood slappers are particularly helpful for stretching large areas of metal and for shaping gradual curves.  And, almost without exception, wood slappers are required for large metal shaping projects such as hoods, door skins, trunk lids and the like.
